How do I get to the Jewish Community of Japan?
What time are Shabbat services?
Saturday: 9:30am. (Torah reading around 10:30am).
How many members do you have, and how big is the community?
The number of members changes every year as most of our congregants are expats.
However the number of members in the past years fluctuates always around 100/120.
Do you have a dress code at the JCJ?
No, we do not have a dress code, but we hope our guests wear something appropriate and respectful of the place.
On Passover and High Holy Days most people wear more formal clothes, but the rest of the year casual clothes are ok.
Do you always get “minyan” for Shabbat?
We usually do, but we cannot guaranty it as we do not take reservations for services.
Can you help us call a taxi back to the hotel?
There are taxi cabs 24/7 everywhere outside our building or at the hospital area right in front of us.
What is the community religious background?
When are you open, (office hours)?
Are there and Hotels near by the JCJ?
Am I allowed to take photos and videos in your building?
Within the premises photos and videos are not permitted on Shabbat and Holidays.
On weekdays, please speak with our security personnel.
